How does reseller hosting work?
You get your own reseller environment to deliver our hosting plans to your customers, entirely under your own name. You pay one fixed amount per year for your plan (Studio for 25 customers, Agency for 50) and nothing per customer. We manage the servers, monitoring, updates and backups; you manage your customers and decide what to charge them.
Do I pay per customer?
No. You pay one fixed amount per year for your reseller environment, no matter how many customers you put on it. The fuller your environment, the lower your cost per customer, so you earn more as you grow, not less.
Can I set my own prices?
Yes, completely. You decide what you charge your end customers. Your margin is your selling price minus the purchase price of the package (from € 39 per customer per year), minus your fixed environment price.
Are domain names included?
No, the plan prices exclude domain names. You register and transfer domains yourself from your own panel: they are automatically placed under your reseller account, with all DNS settings in one place. You pay our registry rates and decide yourself what you charge your customer. Domains your customer holds elsewhere can of course simply be connected.
How many customers can I manage?
With Reseller Studio you manage up to 25 customers, with Reseller Agency up to 50. You can move to a larger plan or an extra environment at any time.
What happens as I grow?
If your plan is full, you move to a larger plan or we assign an extra reseller environment on another server (€ 179 per year for another 50 customers). Growing beyond 50 customers? Get in touch and we'll put together a quote that fits your size.
Can I bring existing customers and websites with me?
Yes. You can move websites across yourself from your reseller environment: you create the customer, pick a plan and move the site and e-mail over. If you would rather not do it yourself, we will handle the migration at the rate in our price list (website migration € 85 per website, e-mail migration € 85 per mailbox). Domain names are transferred separately; they then sit in your own reseller account.
Can I move from Studio to Agency later?
Yes, at any time. Your customers stay exactly where they are: nothing moves, nothing goes offline and your customers will not notice a thing. Your capacity goes from 25 to 50 slots and you pay the Agency rate from that moment on. Get in touch when you want to switch and we will set it up for you.
Who provides technical support?
Infrastructure, server updates, security, backups and premium support are handled by Webosa. You are the point of contact for your customers; we back you up on the technical side.
What's the difference with the partner programme?
The difference is who does the managing. As a partner you refer customers and they become Webosa customers: we do the configuration, resolve incidents and act as their point of contact, while you only manage the website. You pay nothing and receive 10 to 20% commission. As a reseller the customer becomes your customer: you invoice under your own name, you are the point of contact and you set up PHP, email and domains yourself, while we run the servers in the background. You pay a fixed amount per year for the environment, buy a package for each customer and set your own selling price.
When is reseller hosting more attractive than becoming a partner?
As soon as hosting becomes part of your own service. Does your customer call you when the site goes down, do you want to decide what hosting costs, or would you rather not have someone else's name on the invoice? Then you are ready for reseller hosting. Financially you are ahead quickly too: partner commission on a Start package brings in € 3,90 to € 7,80 per customer per year, whereas here you set your own selling price: you buy a package from € 39 and sell it for whatever you want.
When do I need my own server?
When you want more freedom than a reseller environment offers. There you set PHP versions, e-mail, databases and domains per customer, but you stay within our hosting panel. If you want to run your own software, use a different stack or have root access, your own managed server is the next step. Server management still stays with us: we run the server and monitor it 24/7, you decide what runs on it and manage your own software. Not sure? Get in touch and we will work it out together.
Can my customer tell that Webosa is behind the hosting?
No. Your customer's panel carries your logo, your company name in the title bar and a colour scheme you pick yourself. Your logo links to your own website. Webosa appears nowhere in it: invoices, communication and support all run through you. The panel itself does stay recognisably Plesk, because their licence does not allow the Plesk name to be replaced. For your customer that is more of a plus: it is the standard they meet at every professional host.
Who helps out when my customer has a problem?
You are the point of contact; that comes with selling under your own name. If you get stuck technically, we look into it with you, even when the cause sits on your customer's side. If it is the server, the updates or the backups, we fix it without you having to report it.
Is this suitable if I only have a few customers?
Yes. Studio costs € 99 per year, so at roughly one customer a year your subscription has already paid for itself. You do not have to fill all 25 slots to break even; every customer you add lowers your cost per customer.
